Mallorca drug raids: at least 12 arrests, 14 searches
In Palma on Mallorca, officers arrest at least 12 people during drug raids in the La Soledad neighbourhood on Tuesday, 6 October. Those arrested include a man known as ‘El Pablo’, his wife and other relatives, according to sources close to the operation. More than 200 officers from Spain’s National Police and the Tax Agency’s Customs Surveillance Service carry out 14 searches in La Soledad and the municipality of Marratxí, also on Mallorca.
The operation, named Tsunami-Galba, targets a drug-trafficking organisation active on Mallorca and concentrated in La Soledad. National Police investigators from the Balearic judicial police brigade work alongside around 50 officers brought in from Valencia, plus specialists in technical operations, air support and police dogs.
Customs teams from Madrid and Barcelona also take part. A regional aeronaval unit secures the perimeter, supported by staff from the service’s Balearic headquarters and technical specialists. Palma’s Local Police help control traffic, while the city council’s Urban Planning Department carries out technical inspections of the properties under investigation.
