Mallorca drug raids: at least 12 held in Palma, Marratxí
On Mallorca, police arrest at least 12 people on Tuesday, 6 October, in drug raids centred on La Soledad, a neighbourhood of Palma. Officers also search a property in the municipality of Marratxí. They carry out 14 searches in all.
More than 200 officers from Spain’s National Police and the Tax Agency’s Customs Surveillance Service are involved. The operation, named Tsunami-Galba, targets a drug-trafficking organisation concentrated in La Soledad.
The National Police deploy around 50 officers from a specialist unit in Valencia, alongside investigators, technical specialists, air support and dog handlers. Customs teams from Madrid and Barcelona also take part. Palma’s Local Police help manage traffic, while the city council’s urban planning department carries out technical inspections of the properties under investigation.
