Mallorca extortion: boy sells two consoles after attack
Mallorca: A boy sells two games consoles to hand over money after an attack in Palma. Spain’s National Police arrested a minor on Tuesday 13 October after three boys reported extortion. Officers suspect there may be more victims who are afraid to come forward.
Boys sell gaming gear to pay
One boy was injured in an attack, then received further threats through other people. He asked a relative for money, but it was not enough to meet the demand. He sold games and controllers to raise more.
Another boy told police the suspect had threatened him and demanded money for some time. The suspect attacked him in a park while two other minors stopped him defending himself or escaping, according to his complaint. He was hit across his body, and his phone screen was broken. He sold two games consoles to pay. After further intimidation, he handed over more money. He sought help from his family after a third violent episode.
Police look for other victims
A third boy reported robbery with violence and extortion after repeated threats. He told his family before making the complaint.
Investigators identified the minors involved before a patrol found and arrested the main suspect. Police believe other boys may not have reported extortion because they fear reprisals. The investigation remains open, and officers have not ruled out further arrests.
