Mallorca food aid: €1.34m fund for the Balearics

A €1.34 million fund will support food-aid programmes on Mallorca and across the Balearics in 2027. The Balearic Government approved the funding on Friday in Palma for non-profit organisations helping people and families facing financial hardship.

The money will be awarded through a grant call run by the Ministry of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care. It comes from the regional budget and 0.7% of income-tax and corporation-tax revenue.

Sandra Fernández, the minister responsible, said the grants will back projects that meet basic needs and aim to reduce vulnerability and social exclusion. Organisations awarded funding can receive the full amount in advance, without first providing a guarantee.
