Formentera drowning rescue: lifeguards save Briton

A young British man showing symptoms of drowning was rescued near s'Espalmador, Formentera, after emergency services received a 112 call at 13.30 on 2 September. Lifeguards from the Formentera Island Council went to him and began taking him away by boat. During the journey, he was transferred to another vessel from the same lifeguard service and taken to the Illetes area.
Once ashore, the 061 health service treated the man and took him on for further care. The Guardia Civil and Formentera Local Police also took part in the operation.
