Mallorca funeral home roof leaks: €63,000-plus fix

In Sencelles, Mallorca, leaks at the municipal cemetery’s funeral home are prompting a roof repair costing more than €63,000. The local council said on Thursday, 8 October 2026, that it had awarded the contract. The work is due to take three months.

Workers will strip off the existing roof, reuse tiles that are still sound and replace damaged ones. They will renew much of the wooden beam structure and add metal supports, a waterproof layer and insulation. Gutters and downpipes will also be replaced, with a point prepared to collect rainwater.

Inside, the work includes removing some suspended ceilings, adding insulation and fitting new LED lighting. The building will keep its current shape, exterior appearance and traditional roof finish.
