Ferreries horse incident: teenager remains in intensive care

A 17-year-old injured by a horse during the Sant Bartomeu festivities in Ferreries, Menorca, remained in intensive care at Hospital Mateu Orfila on Tuesday, 25 August, according to the Menorca Health Area.

She suffered a traumatic brain injury in a street beside Pla de l'Església, where the traditional jaleo was being held.

Initial accounts indicate that the horse struck the teenager, causing her to lose her balance and fall. She sustained the head injury in the fall.
