Crime in Inca: PP calls for more police officers

The Partido Popular (PP) in Inca, Mallorca, said on 25 August 2026 that crime in Inca had increased sharply, accusing the municipal governing team of failing on security. The party said recorded offences rose from 247 in 2025 to 343 in 2026, an increase of 39%.

Offences highlighted by the party

PP president Rosa Maria Tarragó said the figures supported her party’s long-running warnings that residents felt less safe. She said the governing team had dismissed those concerns rather than addressing them.

The party pointed to increases in fights, assaults, offences against sexual freedom, robberies and thefts. It said the trend required urgent measures to strengthen security in the municipality.

Demand for additional personnel

The PP called for an immediate expansion of the Local Police workforce, saying this would improve officers’ presence on the streets as well as crime prevention and responses to incidents.

It also urged the Spanish Government to assign more personnel to the Guardia Civil barracks in Inca, arguing that resources should reflect population growth and security needs across the wider district. Tarragó praised the work of security services and asked residents to report offences, saying reports were needed to support requests for further staff and equipment.
