A fire on agricultural land at the Son Catiu farm in Inca, Mallorca, was under control by about 16.45 on Thursday. The flames broke out at the foot of Puig de Santa Magdalena. Firefighters still had to declare the blaze fully extinguished.
The Balearic Nature Institute, known as Ibanat, and Mallorca Fire Brigade said the fire had been contained. Ibanat sent three air units, three fire engines, 14 forest firefighters and three environmental agents to support the Mallorca crews.
How much farmland has been affected is not yet known. The cause of the fire also remains unclear.
