Mallorca clears €2.6m Inca hospital security plan
€2.6 million for security at Mallorca’s Hospital Comarcal de Inca: on Friday, 16 October 2026, the Balearic government authorises the director of its health service, IBSalut, to arrange a guarding contract. The service is intended to protect staff, people using the hospital, visitors and its facilities. The contract would run for three years, with an option to extend it for two more.
Government spokesman Antoni Costa says the hospital needs that protection to provide the full range of services covered by Spain’s national health system.
At the same meeting, the government also clears the way for a cleaning contract covering ten education centres, with a maximum budget of €4.5 million. The Department of Education and Universities says it lacks the staff and equipment to do the work itself. The spending is planned for 2027, 2028 and 2029.
