Balearic Islands industrial output falls 2% as Spain grows
A 2% fall in August: industrial production across the Balearic Islands drops from a year earlier while Spain as a whole records a 1.6% rise. Figures released on 6 October by Spain’s National Statistics Institute track the change through its Industrial Production Index.
The gap extends beyond August. So far this year, industrial output in the Balearic Islands is down 3%, while the national figure is up 1.4%.
Durable consumer goods show the steepest fall, down 49.6%. Non-durable goods drop 13.4%, leaving consumer goods overall down 20.6%. Capital goods fall 23.4% and intermediate goods 12.3%. Energy is the exception, rising 10.9%.
