Mallorca trip avoided as Ibiza holds justice exams

Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, is not the exam destination for around 150 people from Ibiza on 3 October: they sit Justice Ministry tests on their own island instead of travelling to Palma. It is the first time the ministry has held the exams on Ibiza, after a request from the UGT union.

People who lived or worked on Ibiza previously had to make the trip to Palma for the tests, UGT Justice Baleares says. That meant paying for tickets and, in some cases, overnight stays. The union says holding the exams on Ibiza saves time and money and makes family arrangements easier.

UGT wants the Ibiza exam venue kept for future rounds. It also wants the ministry to consider holding the tests on other islands when there are enough candidates.
