Palma, Mallorca, plans 81 new 120-litre litter bins at eight locations to help keep rubbish off the streets. Palma City Council announced the plan on 13 October 2026. Its municipal company, Emaya, will replace 50-litre bins with larger ones and add bins where that capacity has been lacking.
The locations are General Ricard Ortega, Joan Alcover, Francesc Barceló i Combis, Marquès de la Sènia and Balanguera streets, Argentina Avenue, Ses Veles Park and Madrid Square. Emaya says it will arrange the bins to suit each area. It has already worked on bin distribution in Pere Garau and Blanquerna.
