Mallorca: Manacor takes over free Lluc walk buses

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

Manacor, Mallorca, will organise its own free participation in the Pujada a Lluc a peu walk on the night of 12 to 13 September. The Town Hall will take registrations, provide commemorative T-shirts and arrange buses from Manacor and Porto Cristo to Inca. It says it has stepped in after a lack of support from the Consell de Mallorca.

The council also criticised an attempt to introduce a new model for the event's 45th edition. Sports councillor Llorenç Mesquida said the move was intended to ensure local people could keep taking part in an activity with deep roots in the municipality.

Registration opens on Thursday

Places are limited. Registration runs in person from Thursday, 27 August, until 8 September, or until all places are taken.

People can sign up from 09.00 to 14.00 at the Sports Department offices. Participation, return transport and the commemorative T-shirt are free.

Bus times and Manacor start

The bus from Manacor to Inca leaves at 03.00, while the Porto Cristo bus departs at 02.15. Return transport is scheduled for 09.00.

Those starting the walk from Manacor can set off from La Salle at 21.00 on 12 September.
