Magaluf hotel row: man bites Guardia Civil officer
A Guardia Civil officer needed treatment after being bitten and hit during a disturbance at a hotel in Magaluf, Calvià, Mallorca. The force arrested a man on Wednesday after the incident, which began at about 17.30. It said he had confronted hotel guests and clashed with a member of staff.
The hotel director told officers the man had already been sent out of the building, but he remained near the entrance. Officers tried to calm him because of his agitated behaviour. He initially left with his partner.
A few hours later, however, he returned to the hotel and again abused staff and guests, the Guardia Civil said. After repeated warnings to stop, he allegedly lunged at an officer intending to attack him.
One officer was treated at a health centre after the bite and a blow. The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, resisting officers and disobeying them. Case papers have been sent to the judicial authorities.
