Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands: prosecutors seek six years in prison for each of four people accused of burgling at least ten homes. The First Section of the Balearic Islands Provincial Court holds a preliminary hearing on Thursday, 22 October, at 10.15 am. Prosecutors also want the four to pay around €45,000 in compensation between them.

The alleged break-ins took place between March and August last year, when the four suspects were arrested. According to the prosecution, they were based between Barcelona and Palma, Mallorca, and split the work: some picked out homes, while others watched them, opened locks or carried out the burglaries.

Investigators searched two homes used by the defendants. They found burglary tools and a Taser stun gun, along with high-end watches, jewellery, mobile phones, wallets and piggy banks.
