Mallorca ITV waits fall from five months to days

Mallorca drivers can now get an ITV vehicle inspection slot within three to ten days at almost every station, the Consell de Mallorca says. From September, the island council plans to make 183,550 appointments available. Manacor remains the exception, with waits of between ten and 15 days.

The ITV is the vehicle inspection service. The council says its waiting list has fallen from more than five months to only a few days over the past three years. Fernando Rubio, the island councillor for Territory, Mobility and Infrastructure, set out the plans during a visit to the Calvià station.

More appointments planned this year

Mallorca’s five ITV stations are expected to inspect between 40,000 and 50,000 vehicles a month from September to the end of the year. The figure could rise above 200,000 appointments, depending on demand.

The island has already completed 350,898 inspections in 2026 and expects to reach about 534,000 by year-end. Numbers slipped to between 34,000 and 38,000 a month in July and August because of staff holidays and summer opening hours, but the waiting lists barely changed.

Campos station aims to ease Manacor pressure

A new ITV station in Campos is due to open before the end of the year, with room for 5,000 vehicles a month. The council says it will take pressure off the heavily used Manacor site and provide a permanent nearby service for Llucmajor, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Santanyí and Porreres.

The council links the shorter waits to changes introduced in 2023. Annual capacity rose from 480,000 to 650,000 inspections and 55 staff were added. Saturday shifts staffed by volunteers can handle up to 4,000 extra inspections a month, while the Son Bugadelles industrial estate station in Calvià adds capacity for 9,000 more each month.
