Mallorca gets €250,000 for water, buildings and sport

Mallorca’s municipal partnerships can draw on €250,000 for running costs and investment, from water-related work to buildings and sports facilities. The Consell de Mallorca approved the direct aid on 30 August 2026, lifting the fund by 6.4 per cent on its previous call. The money goes to the island’s mancomunidades — groups of municipalities that work together — for property, machinery, vehicles and other material.

The 2026 scheme widens the work that can receive support. Funding can now cover water-cycle projects, repairs or upkeep at buildings owned by the partnerships or their member municipalities, as well as sports facilities and cultural equipment.

The island council says the projects can improve life for local people and help stimulate the local economy.

Raiguer receives the largest share

Mancomunidad del Raiguer, with 120,975 inhabitants, will receive €78,675. The Serra de Tramuntana partnership, with just over 115,000 inhabitants, is set for €74,825.

Mancomunidad Nord, which has 85,578 inhabitants, will get €55,800. Pla de Mallorca, with 44,850 inhabitants, has €29,175 allocated, while Migjorn, with 17,733 inhabitants, will receive €11,525.
