Mallorca trains return to their normal timetable on Tuesday, 1 September, after August’s reduced service. Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) is increasing the number of daily trains and the frequency of services.

Trains between Son Fuster station and the Marratxí industrial estate on Mallorca will again run on both tracks. Both platforms at every station on that stretch are back in use, the Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility said.

SFM cuts services only in August, when passenger numbers are lower. Since 2024, the usual timetable has continued throughout July.

This year’s summer service also had to accommodate work to enlarge and modernise SFM’s workshops at Son Rullan. The work forced trains onto a single track between Son Fuster and the Marratxí industrial estate during the most critical stage.

SFM scheduled that stage for August to reduce disruption to passengers. More than 25 million euros is being invested in the workshops, which are being adapted for the railway network’s current and future needs.
