Mallorca's Marco Asensio faces around three months out after surgery on his left knee in Spain on Wednesday, 21 October. The Fenerbahçe forward underwent keyhole surgery, known as arthroscopy, for a cartilage injury. His club says its doctor supervised the successful operation and expects treatment and rehabilitation to take about three months.

It is another setback in Asensio’s second season in Turkey. The Spain international and former Real Madrid player returned at the start of October after a muscle problem kept him out for six matches. Last year, he scored 11 league goals and set up 13 more for Fenerbahçe.
