Authorities intercepted a boat carrying 29 migrants at s'Espalmador beach on Cabrera on Monday, 31 August. The group, described as being of sub-Saharan origin, was located at 10.11am. The Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands confirmed the interception.
The boat takes the number of migrants arriving in the Balearic archipelago in recent hours to 118. Most of those arrivals were on Formentera, according to the Government Delegation. The Cabrera interception adds another group to that total for Mallorca and the wider islands.
