Ibiza migration meeting maps training and research gaps
Eivissa, on Ibiza, hosts the last of three Balearic migration meetings on Friday, 23 October. From 10.00 to 12.30, professionals, social organisations and academics will meet at the University of the Balearic Islands’ Eivissa and Formentera site to discuss the reception and integration of migrants and people in transit.
The university’s Observatory for Migration in the Mediterranean is organising the session. Participants will share practices that have worked and identify where more training and research are needed. Debate and joint work will bring together people from public bodies, voluntary-sector groups and other organisations. The series aims to build a Balearic-wide network of professionals, organisations and researchers, with a focus on human rights and living together across cultures.
A previous meeting took place in Palma, Mallorca, on 2 October, after the opening session on Menorca on 15 May. The university’s Office for Development Cooperation and Solidarity supports the series.
