Mini-tsunami warning: Menorca stays on orange alert

Menorca remains under an orange mini-tsunami warning on Friday, 28 August. The alert is for rissagas, the term used for these sudden sea-level swings. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has kept the warning in place.

Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands are forecast to see cloudy skies with middle and high cloud, with calima also possible. High temperatures are set to fall across the islands. Westerly winds will blow, moderate along the coast before easing in the Mediterranean.

Elsewhere in Spain, Aemet expects locally heavy rain and thunderstorms in Galicia and the far south-east of the mainland. Showers in western Galicia could be heavy early in the day before weakening.
