Mallorca mobile phone theft leads to two arrests
Two men are under arrest after a mobile phone was allegedly stolen from a woman during a sexual encounter in Palma, Mallorca. The woman reported the theft from her home last Friday and told officers she had tracked the device. National Police say one suspect later admitted selling it on.
Officers met the woman near Calle Aragón in Palma after she contacted the man she believed had taken the phone. She said he confirmed he had it, told her he had sold it to another man and said she would have to pay to get it back.
Police found the first suspect, who initially said he had lost the phone. He later said he had sold it, officers said.
A patrol then traced the alleged buyer using the first man’s description. After checking calls and text messages exchanged between the two men, officers arrested them on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.
