Mallorca rider hides drugs in socks, has no licence
Palma, Mallorca: Police find drugs in a 21-year-old motorcyclist’s socks and shoes after stopping him on camí de la Vileta. At about 01.00 on 13 October, he brakes sharply when he sees a patrol and tries to turn away, according to Palma Local Police.
The rider first gives officers false personal details and a false foreign identification number. In his shoulder bag, they find 440 euros and a knife with a 17-centimetre blade. He says he has “many enemies”.
Officers then find individually wrapped portions of cocaine, tusi — also known as pink cocaine — LSD, methamphetamine, ecstasy and MDMA in the socks and shoes on both feet. They also find marijuana and a piece of hashish among cloths in a small compartment on the motorbike.
A health card in the bike’s rear storage box leads officers to ask again about his identity. He admits the card shows his real details. A police check finds he has never held a licence to drive a motor vehicle and has previous police records for offences against public health.
Police impound the motorbike and have it towed to the Sa Riera depot. They take the knife as a precaution and investigate the rider on suspicion of drug and road safety offences. Officers have sent the case papers to the duty investigating court.
