Mallorca faces weak mud rain — rain carrying mud — and occasional thunderstorms on Friday, 28 August, under mostly cloudy skies. The forecast also applies to Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera. Jorge Rodríguez, spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in the Balearics, said showers are most likely on Friday and Saturday.

Cooler Friday, more muddy rain on Saturday

Friday’s maximum temperatures are set to edge down to 30-33ºC. Winds will blow from the south-west before turning west and north-west during the morning.

Cloud cover may bring further weak rain carrying mud on Saturday. Maximums will rise slightly to 30-34ºC, while minimums could sit between 18 and 25ºC. Light northerly winds will turn easterly, with coastal breezes.

Clearer skies expected on Sunday

Sunday is expected to bring less cloud or clear skies. Maximums will remain at 30-34ºC, with minimums of 17-25ºC. Light easterly winds and coastal breezes are forecast.

At the start of next week, September temperatures are expected to remain 1-3 degrees above normal. Aemet does not expect heat warnings to be issued.
