Mallorca new university: Prohens gets launch update

Palma, 13.00 on Friday: Marga Prohens hears how Mallorca’s new university is taking shape. The Balearic Government president meets Pere Riutord, rector of the University of Mallorca (UMAC-Adema), at the Consolat de Mar. Diego González, president of the centre’s Governing Council, and Education and Universities Minister Antoni Vera also attend.

Riutord and González are due to set out progress on launching the university and the main strands of its academic project. Research, innovation and internationalisation are also on the agenda.

Later, at 20.00, Prohens attends the closing festival for Amadiba’s summer schools at Es Molí des Comte in Palma. She will be welcomed by Amadiba president Elvira Jiménez, Palma mayor Jaime Martínez and Guillermo Sánchez, president of the Mallorca Institute of Social Affairs. Prohens will join the presentation of gifts and give closing remarks.
