Mallorca: Paid chemistry training starts in November
Mallorca: A paid chemistry training programme starts in Palma in November, combining a year of lessons with work at one of nine participating firms. The University of the Balearic Islands says its UIBTalent unit is preparing the programme. Participants will have a training contract that covers both study and paid work.
The course includes 710 hours of specialist teaching at the Sa Riera building and the university campus in Palma. It is linked to a level-three vocational certificate in organising and controlling chemical processing. The programme aims to prepare trainees for work in areas including laboratories, production processes, quality, consultancy, technical support and management.
Applicants must be out of work and registered as jobseekers with the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB) before they are hired. They must also meet the academic entry requirements for the certificate. The university is running the programme with the Balearic Chemical Industry Cluster.
