Mallorca’s Palma Circ brings fire and 25 artists
Palma, Mallorca, sees 25 artists perform across three sites: free Palma Circ shows bring acrobatics, fire and LED lights to the city over the weekend. The sixth edition runs on Saturday and Sunday, with local, Spanish and international performers. Palma City Council reports a large turnout but gives no figure.
Saturday begins at Plaça de les Columnes with acrobatics, contortion, hula-hoop, dance and comedy. The shows include ‘Mongolia Legacy’, featuring performers from Mongolia’s new circus scene. At Plaça de Pere Garau, ‘Circ de Nit-Vortice, Fuego y Luz en Movimiento’ combines acrobatics and juggling with music, fire and LED technology.
On Sunday, the action moves to Ses Voltes. Children and young people from different schools show their skills in ‘Circ Obert’, followed by more performances, including ‘Gran Hotel’. The Mallorcan production is set in a hotel in the 1920s.
Palma Circ returns later in the year. Circ Stromboli performs ‘Elfs, el gran sopar de Nadal’ at Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza on 12 and 13 December.
