Palma pool flats cost up to 80% more than homes without pools
Buying a flat with a pool in Palma, Mallorca, can cost up to 80% more than a comparable home without one, according to figures from property portal idealista reported on 21 August. Across Spain, the average premium for a flat with pool access is 62%.
Only 29% of homes listed for sale on idealista nationally include a pool, the study found.
Palma among cities with the largest pool premiums
Barcelona recorded the widest price gap, where flats with pools were 242% more expensive than those without. Teruel followed at 215%, while Tarragona registered a difference of 148%.
Palma and Huesca both showed an 80% premium. In Madrid, flats with pools cost 38% more on average, compared with 39% in San Sebastián and 36% in Seville.
Palma pool listings trail Alicante
Alicante had the highest proportion of flats for sale with pools, at 29% of its listings. Palma ranked next with 21%, while Málaga and Almería each stood at 16%.
Madrid recorded 14% of listings with pools, compared with 5% in Barcelona. In Oviedo, A Coruña, León, Bilbao and Burgos, just 1% of advertised homes had pools.
