Part of the wall around CEIP Rei Jaume I in Palma is being held up by a support structure after stability problems emerged. On 3 September, the Balearic Ministry of Education and Universities awarded an emergency contract for a partial repair. The work is budgeted at €347,682 and has a four-month completion period.
The contract covers 52 linear metres of wall beside the eastern sports court in the school’s northern playground. The repairs are split into three sections measuring 3, 32 and 17 metres.
The ministry said the project reaches beyond the part of the wall directly affected. It is intended to secure the stability and safety of the wider structure.
