Mallorca names Pedro Rosselló tourism director

Mallorca has appointed Pedro Rosselló as its new director for tourism offer and quality. He is due to take up the Consell de Mallorca post on 1 September, replacing Clara del Moral, who is retiring. The Balearic Islands Official Gazette (BOIB) published the appointment in Palma on Saturday, 29 August 2026.

Rosselló, born in Palma in 1967, has worked as a lawyer for more than 25 years and has a practice in Manacor, Mallorca. He was deputy mayor of Manacor and councillor for environment and the town centre from 2007 to 2011. From 2011 to 2015, he served as secretary general of the Balearic Nature Institute (Ibanat), which sits under the regional agriculture, environment and territory department.

Ballester takes community care role

The BOIB also named Margalida Ballester as the Consell de Mallorca’s director for community care and promotion of personal autonomy. She is also set to begin on 1 September, replacing Catalina Maria Mascaró, who is leaving for professional reasons.

Ballester was Muro, Mallorca’s councillor for tourism and beaches, commerce, markets, transport and civil protection between 2019 and 2022. She then became second deputy mayor from 2022 to 2026, with responsibility for tourism and beaches, environment and culture.
