Mallorca airport theft: six perfumes worth €1,100
A 43-year-old man was arrested at Palma Airport on Mallorca on Tuesday afternoon after Guardia Civil officers found six perfume bottles worth €1,100 in his hand luggage. He could not provide proof that they had been paid for. The bottles had allegedly been taken from the terminal’s duty-free shop.
The shop’s private security control room alerted officers after spotting a customer putting items into his hand luggage without intending to pay. The store manager watched the man before a security guard stopped him.
A patrol from the airport’s Tax and Border Section searched his belongings and found the six bottles from well-known brands. The Guardia Civil said on Thursday that the man had been referred to judicial authorities.
