PET-TAC limits prompt PSIB call for Manuela García to appear

PSIB has requested that Health Minister Manuela García appear before parliament over restrictions on PET-TAC tests at Hospital Son Espases in Palma, Mallorca, on 24 August 2026. The tests are used to detect tumours and have reportedly been limited because of a shortage of nuclear medicine doctors.

The request follows a recent report by Diario de Mallorca. According to the information, staff have been asked to adapt their work and prioritise examinations because the specialist team is small.
