Mallorca PP launches 2027 election campaign push
More than 95% of the Balearic government’s programme is complete or under way, Marga Prohens says as she launches a new PP campaign in Palma. The Balearic PP president unveiled the drive on Monday, 7 September, at the Hipotels Convention Centre in Playa de Palma. It marks the final political year before the 2027 regional, island and municipal elections.
Prohens wants the party to secure what she calls a “majority of stability”. She said it was close, but stressed that the ballot box is the only poll that matters.
PP takes its record to every municipality
The campaign, called Dicho y hecho — “said and done” — will run on social media and in every municipality across the Balearic Islands in the coming months. The PP says it will set out the commitments it has made and, in its view, delivered during its three years in government.
Prohens pointed to the abolition of inheritance tax, tax breaks intended to help young people buy homes and free education for children aged 0 to 3. She also listed the return of career progression for healthcare staff, the work-life balance law, a zero fee for new self-employed workers, fewer procedures and bureaucracy, and measures aimed at bringing affordable housing onto the market.
Two routes after the 2027 vote
According to Prohens, surveys by different firms show two possible outcomes: the PP remains in government but depends on other parties, or it wins its own stable majority. She said the party will use the coming months to build further trust.
Prohens also acknowledged that much remains to be done. The Balearic government, she said, will keep working until the final day of the legislature on the islands’ main challenges, including affordable housing and cutting red tape.
