At 10.00 on Friday, 16 October, prayers begin at the Parador in Dalt Vila on Ibiza, Spain, where 17 priests were killed. The Diocese of Ibiza will visit sites on Ibiza and Formentera where a total of 20 priests were killed. Their beatification is due to take place the following day.

The Parador stands in the former military castle where the 17 priests were killed on 13 September 1936. Bishop Vicent Ribas will then go to Sa Carrossa on Ibiza to pray for Antonio Roig Guasch, who was shot there.

His next stop is La Savina on Formentera, Spain. Juan Torres Torres was killed there on 7 August 1936 and thrown into the sea. He was 24 and had been ordained just 44 days earlier.

At 19.00, prayers will be held in the square outside the church in Sant Carles on Ibiza. Priest Antonio Tur Costa and his father, Antonio Tur, were shot there on 8 August 1936. Evening prayers follow at 20.30 in the parish church of Santa Eulària, where the Himne dels Beats, first performed last Saturday, will be sung again. The traditional song Amunt germans will be sung at each prayer for the dead.
