Mallorca: Prohens to attend Guardia Civil ceremony

Alcúdia, Mallorca, hosts an official Guardia Civil ceremony on Saturday, with Balearic Islands regional president Marga Prohens due to attend. The event marks the feast of the Virgin of the Pillar, the force’s patron saint. Regional government vice-president Antoni Costa and second vice-president Antònia Maria Estarellas are also expected.

Before the ceremony, Prohens is due at a meeting on paediatric palliative care and care for children with complex long-term conditions. Proyecto Juntos and a team specialising in that care have organised it. Health minister Manuela García will attend, alongside Proyecto Juntos representatives Martha Patricia and Carlos Ramón, and care coordinator Susana Jordá Martí.
