Balearic home searches: 16.2% seek €100,000–€200,000

Property searches in the Balearic Islands look very different from those across Spain. On 3 September, property portal pisos.com said 16.2% of its searches for homes for sale used a €100,000 to €200,000 price filter. That is the lowest share among Spain’s autonomous communities, although it is the country’s most selected price band overall, at 37.2%.

Balearics rank second for €1 million searches

At the other end of the market, 1.7% of searches in the Balearic Islands are for homes priced above €1 million. That puts the archipelago second among Spain’s regions, ahead of Madrid at 1.6% and the Basque Country at 1.2%.

Ferran Font, spokesman and research director at pisos.com, said demand in the three regions was financed differently. In the Balearics, he added, an international element has operated by its own logic for decades.

Most searches in Spain stay below €350,000

Across Spain, 20.6% of searches are for homes priced from €50,000 to €100,000, while 20.4% fall in the €200,000 to €350,000 bracket. A further 13.6% are for properties below €50,000.

Together, those price bands mean more than 91% of demand recorded on the portal stops below €350,000. Searches for €350,000 to €500,000 homes account for 5.1%, those from €500,000 to €1 million make up 2.7%, and properties above €1 million represent 0.4%.
