Palma housing protest targets Pryconsa in Son Bordoy
A Palma housing protest is planned for 09.30 on Friday at plot 11 in Son Bordoy, Palma. The Platform of People Affected by Mortgages Mallorca (PAH) has called the gathering on Camí de Son Antiquet in support of residents facing a planned Pryconsa housing development.
The PAH says the developer forced its way on to the land last Tuesday and placed machinery on two plots. It alleges that threats and pressure were used, and that water services were cut off.
The platform also accuses Pryconsa of hiding behind an alleged municipal order to cover delays to the housing project. It claims the firm is committing procedural fraud and defying the courts.
Pryconsa has filed a claim against residents of the affected plots, according to the PAH. The platform says the company has no right to enter Son Bordoy while the Court of First Instance has yet to issue a ruling, and says residents will fight the case through civil and criminal channels.
