Calvià Town Hall is preparing the re-enactment. Mateo García Bennàssar, from the Berenguer de Palou group, will play Rei Jaume, while Óscar Blanco Domingo of Ali Oli takes the role of the Moorish king Abu-Yahya.

From the Club Náutico to the beach

Jaume I and his troops are due to land at the Club Náutico de Santa Ponça at about 17.30. The Christian army will then head for the Cruz del Desembarco esplanade, where it will meet the Moorish forces in the first armed clash and skirmish.

The two sides will then parade under a truce and apparent peace to Caló d'en Pellicer beach for a second confrontation. Afterwards, they will march together to the main beach of Santa Ponça.

Final duel on the sand

The sand at Santa Ponça beach will stage the final face-to-face duel between Rei Jaume and Abu-Yahya. The battle symbolically decides the kingdom's fate, ending in the historic Christian victory.

Live music and a traditional medieval market on the seafront promenade opposite the beach will round off the evening.
