Palma honours Sancus victims with medals and diplomas

Palma will honour people affected by the Sancus case in the second half of September, handing out medals and diplomas at a city hall ceremony. Most are Palma Local Police officers who were acquitted. People who were charged and later cleared will receive medals, while those initially investigated will be given diplomas.

Deputy city government spokesperson Llorenç Bauzá said on Wednesday that the ceremony was long overdue. He said it was intended to restore the honour of the police officers and other public servants involved.

Some of those affected have died. Palma City Council will notify their families so they can attend the ceremony and collect the medal or diploma.
