RCD Mallorca sacks two players over secret filming

RCD Mallorca has terminated the contracts of two academy players after their arrests over the alleged secret recording of a sexual encounter involving a minor in Palma. One of the players is underage. The events are said to have taken place on 14 August.

Sources close to the case told Europa Press that the two players went with the girl to a home in Palma. The adult player allegedly had consensual sex with her, while the underage player is accused of hiding in a cupboard and filming without her knowledge.

Both are accused of corruption of minors. Investigators are also examining whether the adult player had a relationship with the girl.

Mallorca said it launched an internal investigation as soon as it learned of the allegations. After the procedure ended and the circumstances were reviewed, the club terminated both contracts.

The players are no longer part of RCD Mallorca. The club said its internal rules and values must guide the conduct of everyone in the organisation.
