Mallorca to elect three senators in Spain's snap vote
Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, elects three senators on 29 November 2026 as Spain goes to the polls. The Balearic Islands have eight seats in the Congress of Deputies, Spain’s lower house. A decree published in Spain’s official state gazette on 6 October dissolves Congress and the Senate and calls elections for both chambers.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez proposed the election. The cabinet discussed it at an extraordinary meeting the previous day. Alongside Mallorca’s three senators, Ibiza, Formentera and Menorca each elect one.
The campaign runs from 13 to 27 November. After the vote, the new Congress and Senate hold their first sittings on 23 December at 10am.
