Mallorca and islands get 30 posts to speed up claims
Mallorca, Menorca and Eivissa are getting 30 new civil service posts between them: the Balearic government wants to speed up social benefits paperwork and improve help for the public. The Governing Council approved the extra posts on Friday, 9 October, for the Department of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care. Government spokesman Antoni Costa announced the decision after the council meeting.
Some of the new staff will manage and process benefit claims, while other posts include assistants, senior technical staff and section heads. The department is also adding leadership roles covering children, young people, emancipation, personal autonomy, legal services and accessibility. Public-facing posts include sociology and psychology specialists, social workers, and educators working on emancipation and non-custodial juvenile justice measures.
