Son Reus animal shelter strike planned in Palma

Workers at the Son Reus animal shelter in Palma, Mallorca, are due to strike from 14:00 on Monday, 24 August, after raising concerns about insecure and precarious working conditions.
The action has been called by trade union UGT, which says staff are seeking improvements to address their workplace situation.
Palma City Council has ordered 100% minimum services, according to UGT. Workers say the requirement would oblige full staffing across several shifts and duties, leaving the protest with little practical effect.
UGT says its legal team is examining the council’s decision and may challenge it.
