Ibiza sports hall's €1.9 million overhaul begins
A €1.9 million overhaul is under way at the Quartó de Portmany sports hall in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza: workers are removing roof panels and court flooring. Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council said on 7 October that work on the changing rooms has also begun. Contractor Hermanos Parrot S.A. has eleven months to complete the project.
The plans include a new roof, court floor and lighting, along with upgrades to the electrical, plumbing, drainage and air-conditioning systems. New baskets, goals and other sports equipment are also due.
The council plans to make it easier for disabled people to enter and move around the building, and to reach the institute. Solar panels planned for the roof will have a total capacity of 156 kW and are intended to cut the hall’s energy use.
