Mallorca storms cancel 15 Palma flights, divert 12
Mallorca’s Palma Airport has 15 cancelled flights and 12 diversions on Monday, 19 October, as rain and thunderstorms disrupt air travel. Dozens of delays have also built up there since midday, according to airport operator Aena’s figures, updated at 7pm.
At Ibiza Airport, five flights are cancelled and one is diverted. Three of the cancelled flights connect with Palma and two with Alicante. Menorca Airport also loses a flight to Palma because of the bad weather in the Balearic capital.
Spain’s air navigation provider Enaire says the weather system Adam, described as a DANA, is bringing adverse conditions to the Mediterranean coast and the Balearic Islands. Air traffic restrictions are in place for safety.
