Mallorca clears almost 5.4 kilometres of stream bed
Mallorca: Crews clear vegetation and clean almost 5.4 kilometres of the ses Planes stream at Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, part of government maintenance work across three islands. The Balearic Ministry of the Sea and Water Cycle reported the work on 17 October 2026. It also covers streams on Menorca and Ibiza.
More streams cleared on Mallorca
In Palma, crews have cleaned about 1.3 kilometres of the Bunyola stream. Between Sineu and Maria de la Salut, work on the Montblanc stream covers almost 3.5 kilometres and includes removing plant roots. Crews have also cut back vegetation on land beside streams in several municipalities.
Work on Menorca and Ibiza
In Maó, Menorca, crews have worked on about 700 metres of the main des Vergers de Sant Joan stream and around 50 metres of its branches. They have removed vegetation and accumulated material, cleared drainage passages and repaired sections of the banks.
On Ibiza, crews have removed obstructions at several points along the d’en Capità stream. Walls have also been repaired along the Santa Eulària river. The ministry says the work is part of routine waterway maintenance.
