Mallorca police stop two drivers with suspected cocaine
Mallorca: sudden turns by two drivers lead officers to 17 packets of suspected cocaine in one car and 13 in another. The Civil Guard stopped and arrested the men last week in Cala Figuera, Mallorca, and the Colònia de Sant Jordi, Mallorca, less than two days apart.
Both drivers changed direction abruptly when they spotted officers patrolling roads in the south of the island. Searches found individually wrapped doses hidden in different parts of the cars. The Civil Guard said they were ready for sale.
In Cala Figuera, the 17 packets held 14 grams of a substance with the characteristics of cocaine. Officers also found 980 euros in notes of different values. In the Colònia de Sant Jordi, they seized 13 packets weighing 10.5 grams in total, along with 330 euros.
The men have been brought before the judicial authorities. The Civil Guard is investigating whether the two cases are linked to drug supply points near the towns.
