TUI Blue names Louise Bates as managing director
TUI Blue will have a new managing director from 1 October, when Louise Bates takes over from Artur Gerber. TUI announced the change in Madrid on 2 September 2026. Bates, currently Brand and Products Director at TUI Hotels & Resorts, will also join the hotel subsidiary’s board.
Gerber is leaving TUI at his own request but will remain linked to the travel group as an adviser. After leaving the board, he plans to pursue new projects.
TUI said Gerber played a key part in building TUI Blue and taking the hotel brand into international markets. Under his leadership, it grew into an international portfolio.
Marco Ciomperlik, TUI’s Chief Operating Officer, said Bates had successfully developed hotel concepts including TUI Sensatori and TUI Sensimar. TUI Hotels & Resorts oversees the group’s own hotel and club brands, which also include Robinson, TUI Magic Life and The Mora.
